Scott Jensen

Lynchburg Area Operations Leader

Scott Jensen brings more than just experience and technical expertise to our team. Since 2018, he has also played an integral role in cultivating our company culture and fostering a supportive, family-like atmosphere amongst our staff. He moved from Clarksville, TN, to Forest, VA, alongside his wife, Lynn, to be closer to family, and this emphasis on family and community permeates his leadership style.

Beginning his career in the United States Army and subsequently making a transition to the banking industry, Scott has consistently demonstrated his capacity for learning, adaptation, and excellence. After moving to Virginia, he sought out an occupation that would bring joy to his daily life - landscaping, a field that resonated with his profound love for the outdoors, traced back to his formative years.

When asked by friends and colleagues what he intended to do after his career in banking, Scott's response was straightforward: he wanted to do "something fun." His definition of fun, as it turns out, was reviving his early love for landscaping and hardscapes, dating back to his first job when, at 14 he helped build a golf course, contributing to the transformation of a forest into a lush, beautifully landscaped golf course- a pivotal experience that sowed the seeds of his passion for the great outdoors. This remarkable experience, combined with his childhood spent on a farm, instilled in him a deep love for the outdoors. To this day, Scott enjoys spending time outside, diligently working on various projects in his yard.

But what truly sets Scott apart is his influence on our company culture. Scott serves in a guiding role for our team. He has created a work environment that emphasizes support, mutual respect, and camaraderie. He actively fosters an atmosphere of inclusion and engagement, reinforcing the notion that every team member's contribution is vital to our success. His approach to leadership encourages personal growth and team cohesion, making Sutton Landscaping not just a place to work, but a community to belong to. His dedication to creating beautiful landscapes is matched only by his commitment to cultivating a nurturing, growth-oriented environment for our staff. We are truly privileged to have Scott on our team.
